Tritone drops contain cypoheptadine hydrochloride, tricholine citrate. Cyproheptadine hydrochloride is an antagonist of serotonin and histamine with the property of anticholinergic and sedative property. It is useful in stimulating the appetite and growth. Tricholine citrate as the name suggests it contains three molecules of choline which is useful l in the treatment of fatty infiltration and cirrhosis of liver. Sorbitol is a low calorie sweetening agent.

Cyproheptadine produces stimulating effect by causing serotonin antagonism. It antagonizes the effect of serotonin on satiety centre. When the stomach is empty the sugar levels decreases and produces signal to the brain and activating the appetite centre. Tricholine causes the conversion of fat into phospholipids. It also increases the bile flow and stimulates pancreatic enzymes. Sorbitol causes increase in evacuation and normalizes peristalsis.
